Volunteers Are the Heart of WLLO Village

WLLO Village would not exist if we did not have a dedicated cadre of volunteers. Volunteers are at the heart of the national Village Movement.

One of our goals is to create a delightful experience for our volunteers and members that supports our values of connecting, giving back, and creating a community that fosters independence. Volunteers are not required to be Members of WLLO Village, but have access to many of the activities.


Are you looking for a great opportunity to volunteer and give back to your community? WLLO Village is currently recruiting and orienting village volunteers.

Here are some of the tasks WLLO Volunteers enjoy doing:

  • Driver: door-to-door rides help keep our non-driving and otherwise active members connected to their community. (This is our most popular service, regularly requested by village members who no longer can drive or cannot drive at night.)

  • Tech Help: in-home or remote coaching for our members who need a little help with their phones, tablets and computers.

    •
  • Handy person: help in the home and garden with various tasks.

    •
  • "Virtual Office" Volunteers: help answer member requests or chat with members about their needs, then schedule services by volunteers. A willingness to learn and work with new technology is helpful in this role.

  • Organizer: arrange Village social/outreach events. Helping members organize socials with other members and general event planning.

  • Village Supporters: help with ongoing operation and administrative tasks.
